The Arts in Society knowledge community is dedicated to the concept of independent, peer-led groups of scholars, researchers, and practitioners working together to build bodies of academic knowledge related to topics of critical importance to society at large. Focusing on the intersection of academia and social impact, the Arts in Society knowledge community brings an interdisciplinary, international perspective to discussions of new developments in the field, including research, practice, policy, and teaching.
Joining the community is easy, and the opportunities for engagement are many. As a member of the community, you have access to a broad range of tools and resources to use in your own work: electronic access to the full journal and book collections; a full Scholar account, offering an innovative online space for collaborative learning in your classes or for broader collaborative interaction with colleagues (within a research project or across the globe); and annual conferences where you can present your work and engage in extensive interactions with others with similar interests who bring different perspectives. And you can contribute to the development and formalization of the ideas and works of others—as a journal or book reviewer, as a conference participant, and as a contributor to the newsletters and community dialogue.
